Conte axes 26 y/o star, Son & Reguilon start in 5 changes: Predicted Spurs XI vs BHAFC - opinion

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to advance in the FA Cup on their return to competitive action this evening, fresh from a winter break and the humdrum of the January transfer window.

Antonio Conte’s side host Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round in what will be their first match since being defeated by Chelsea for the third time in a month over two weeks ago.

It will be interesting to see what sort of side the Italian names, especially after making two signings on deadline day and being able to welcome a couple of players back from injury.

So what sort of lineup could we see at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight? Here’s what we are predicting…

There could be as many as five changes from the side that were beaten last time out.

In goal, Hugo Lloris is expected to remain but Conte will be able to welcome back Cristian Romero from injury as he returns to the backline alongside Eric Dier and Ben Davies.

The Argentine takes the place of Japhet Tanganga.

Matt Doherty could keep his place at right wing-back, whilst Sergio Reguilon should be fit enough to feature, meaning Ryan Sessegnon drops to the bench.

In midfield, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could partner Oliver Skipp, so 26-year-old midfielder Harry Winks will have to make way, whilst there’s no place for recent signing Rodrigo Bentancur.

Further up the pitch, Heung-min Son may also make his return from injury, partnering Harry Kane and Lucas Moura up top. It means Steven Bergwijn drops to the bench, where there should be Dejan Kulusevski, who also joined from Juventus on deadline day.

Predicted Spurs XI vs Brighton (3-4-2-1): Lloris; Davies, Dier, Romero; Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Doherty; Son, Moura; Kane

AND in other news, Daniel Levy
