Contact made: PIF now expected to make offer to sign another exciting Brazilian for Newcastle

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Public Investment Fund are reportedly now expected to make an offer to sign Santos FC attacker Angelo Gabriel for Newcastle United.

Having already signed Bruno Guimaraes in the January transfer window, on top of Joelinton now thriving at the club, it seems as if the St. James’ Park outfit could be building an exciting Brazilian contingent of players.

Lucas Paqueta and Gabriel Barbosa have also been linked with a move to the North East, as Eddie Howe potentially looks to add some more South American flair to his team.

As per Brazilian outlet iG Esporte, the Tynesiders have already made first contacts with Angelo’s representatives, and should return soon with a concrete offer.

However, should the deal go ahead, he would not be able to officially transfer to the Magpies until January, as he will only turn 18 years of age in December.

At 17, Angelo is certainly one for the future, as the Toon look to continue their rebuild by adding some younger faces that can develop in the Academy towards a long-term project.

In 2022, he has one goal and three assists for Santos in 21 games in total over all competitions so far (Transfermarkt), and is already playing men’s football on a regular basis.

The youngster is supremely versatile, operating on both flanks, as a number ten and even up front, showing out in six different positions already in his fledgling career.

The likes of Neymar, Rodrygo and Alex Sandro have all risen to the world stage after first playing for Santos, and it appears PIF will be hoping that Angelo can follow in their footsteps.
