Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather: Mike Tyson on why UFC star deserves more respect

Remember Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor? Well, everyone does, considering the box-office nature of the clash.

The build-up to the fight was a spectacle in itself, with Mayweather coming out of retirement against a McGregor who was at the peak of his powers at the time. 

The bout then produced an iconic night in Las Vegas. Much against the general opinion, The Notorious did really turn up for what was his first clash in boxing.

For the first few rounds, McGregor showed what got him where he is. 

However, as he then ran out of gas, Mayweather showed what got him where he is: invincibility. The American superstar produced a brilliantly pragmatic performance, eventually getting the better of the Irishman and taking home a whooping $280 million. McGregor didn’t go home empty-handed either, landing just the $130 million. 

That night in Vegas still does remain in the fans’ memory, as it does in Mike Tyson’s memory, too. Speaking on his podcast, he said:
