Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather 2: Notorious drops 'untold truth' bomb

Conor McGregor has ramped up the tension ahead of a potential 2023 rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor has claimed that he “carried” Mayweather in the early rounds of their 2017 clash before paying for his generosity.

Rumours of a rematch between Mayweather and McGregor have been constantly circulating during 2022.

Mayweather, the undefeated, former multiple weight world champion, has been involved in a number of exhibition bouts recently.

McGregor, the first UFC fighter to hold championships in two weight classes simultaneously, is now focused on getting back into peak condition after a badly broken leg.

Back in 2017, their boxing match dominated the combat sport world with 4.3 million pay-per-views and generated over $550 million.

The commercial success of the bout opened up the door for major crossover fights and a rematch has been rumoured ever since.

Reports now suggest that the pair are close to an agreement to meet again, in a series of fights worth an astronomical amount, maybe as much as a world-record $1.5 billion.

A two-fight contract has been discussed, with another boxing match and a face-off in the MMA Octagon. The classic boxing match and MMA rules fight are expected to take place in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia during 2023.

McGregor, in his only professional boxing match, gave a good account of himself, despite losing. Notorious won the early rounds, with Mayweather coming strong in the later stages, to claim the win as McGregor tired, forcing referee Robert Byrd to stop the fight in the 10th round.

Mayweather immediately hung up his gloves to preserve his perfect 50-0 record, but as talks progress he appears willing to put this on the line
