Conor McGregor's next fight: Charles Oliveira reveals why he wants to fight Notorious
Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira has explained why he’s interested in a fight against Conor McGregor.
While he may no longer officially hold the gold after missing weight prior to UFC 274, Charles Oliviera is still viewed by many as the best lightweight on the planet right now. He’s beaten Kevin Lee, Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje across an insane five-fight run that has left many asking the same question: who can beat ‘Do Bronx’?
The Brazilian is in the midst of his prime and nothing, outside of the scales, has been able to slow him down – leading to the former champ actively looking around for his next challenger.
There are a few options on the table but one of the most appealing, unsurprisingly, is Conor McGregor.
In a recent interview with ESPN, Oliveira revealed why he wants to take on ‘The Notorious’ in the future.
“It would be a very good fight for me,” Oliveira said. “It would put a lot of money in my pocket, and [at this moment] that’s the most important thing. And it would also be really good for my legacy, for me to have in my story. Regardless, if he’s coming from defeat or not, he’s a guy who’s made history, so I think it would be great, but it’s not just up to me. If it were up to me, this fight would already be happening.”
