Conor McGregor: New training footage leaves fans unconvinced

Conor McGregor is stepping up his recovery and a return to action could be upon us after he posted a 20-second clip of himself back in training.

McGregor posted the clip of him training ahead of his return with the sun shining in the background and surrounded by palm trees.

Notorious is upping the intensity as he aims to return to action after breaking his tibia in last July’s TKO defeat to Dustin Poirier. The tibia break has restricted McGregor’s training ever since, but the Irishman looks fit and ready to go now he has been cleared to train.

McGregor was the first-ever two-weight UFC champion, but fellow fighters have questioned his abilities and whether his return will be a successful one.

He is without a win in two years, losing three of his last four fights and will be itching to set the record straight.

Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has said that the highest-paid UFC fighter has ‘demons that he is fighting’ and that his ‘hustle is not the same.’

Usman wasn’t the only fighter to voice his concerns as Henry Cejudo replied to the McGregor tweet saying: “Your hands are down and your distance is off. Stay away from the yes men. Just a tip from the goat.”
