Conor McGregor is 'always exciting to watch' - UFC legend makes big claim ahead of comeback

Conor McGregor is ‘always exciting to watch’ according to UFC legend and pioneer Royce Gracie.

The Irish MMA superstar is expected to return to the cage sometime later this year after suffering a horrific leg break in his trilogy defeat to Dustin Poirier last July.

And legendary UFC Hall of Famer Gracie has claimed the Notorious has completely changed the game when it comes to entertaining the masses.

Speaking to The Mirror, the retired Brazilian MMA fighter said: “Conor McGregor can put up a show and he’s a very good fighter.

“He knows strategy.”

He then went on to continue to speak highly of McGregor, who has won 22 of his 28 MMA fights, 19 by knockout.

Gracie added: “Sometimes he wins fast and sometimes he loses. People talk trash about him when he loses but hey, if you’ve never lost, you’ve never fought.

“He’s always exciting to watch because you never know what’s going to happen, he comes to fight and every time he gets in, it’s a good fight.

“In the beginning it was a style against a style, today it’s not that anymore, it’s a fighter against a fighter and who has the best strategy, so anything can happen.”

It’s not the first time McGregor has been praised by Gracie.

A year ago he backed him to make a full recovery from surgery after going under the knife.

He previously said: “He’s a fighter. So, didn’t stop him [from coming back] before. It’s a question that how much he have inside of him.

“if he have that fire inside of him, he will come back. He is always dangerous [and] he’s a very good fighter.

“Sometimes, we don’t know, we make comments and could size up a person. But I don’t know what kind of week at home, what kind of month he had at home.
