Palace 'make an offer of £12million plus add-ons for Chris Richards'
Crystal Palace have agreed a five-year deal with Bayern Munich defender Omar Richards.
According to BILD journalist Christian Falk, Palace have made an offer of around £12million (€15million) plus add-ons for Richards which could take the deal to £17million (€20 million).
Richards joined Bayern from FC Dallas but has made just ten senior appearances for the German club.
The centre-back has eight caps for the United States and at the age of 22 has time on his side to develop further.
Bayern's acquisition of Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus has pushed Richards further down the pecking order.
The opportunity to play in the Premier League is hugely appealing for Richards, with Palace boss Patrick Vieira rating him highly.
Richards gained valuable experience during two loan spells at Hoffenheim.
Palace finished in 12th place in the Premier League last season and will be determined to push on further this campaign.
Vieira has already signed talented young winger Malcolm Ebiowei following his departure from Derby County, while Cheick Doucoure signed from Lens.
