Conor McGregor continues Celtic love affair as UFC superstar left raving over 'incredible' Green Brigade tifo
Conor McGregor is hoping to make a visit to Celtic Park as he's left raving over a Green Brigade tifo inspired by one of his most famous post-fight interviews.
The UFC superstar has been answering a number of questions on X and the topic of the Scottish Premiership champions was brought to his attention. McGregor has a long-running support of Brendan Rodgers' side, from being spotted in training with the club's shirt on to madcap claims in 2021 he could acquire shares from supremo Dermot Desmond.
While those claims never amounted to anything, he has confirmed his intention to visit the east-end of Glasgow again, with another nod to the banner the Green Brigade created ahead of a 5-0 Champions League qualifying win over Astana. The slogan read "we're not here to take part, we're here to take over!", which McGregor stated after a first-round win over Diego Brandao in his hometown of Dublin back in 2014.
He said previously of the banner: "Celtic Football Club STAND UP!!! This is what die hard support from your fans looks like! What a sight! What a team! Thank you all!"
Now a fan on social media asked the 35-year-old about his Hoops plans and brought it back into his thinking. They asked: "Any plans to visit Celtic Park in the future? I'm sure you’d get a hero's reception from all your brothers from across the pond. I'm sure Kieran Tierney would be happy with that."
And the Notorious replied: "This is incredible! Hopefully one day for sure!"
