Confusion reigns as Max Verstappen secures win in rain-hit Suzuka GP
Confusion reigned at the Japanese Grand Prix after Max Verstappen won, with it not immediately clear if he had won the championship after Charles Leclerc suffered a post-race penalty. The race ran for around half the full length after a series of complications delayed the restart in Suzuka.

Rain was too heavy for a restart for an hour, and when vehicles got back out visibility remained a problem behind a safety car. Verstappen took victory with conflicting reports about whether he won his second title after Leclerc's late penalty.
