Confirmed: Tottenham agree compensation fee for player as he seals Championship switch
Hull City have rubber-stamped the signing of goalkeeper Thimothée Lo-Tutala from Tottenham Hotspur after agreeing compensation with the Premier League side for the 19-year-old.
The Tigers have signed the young stopper on a three-year contract but still needed to agree a compensation fee with Spurs in order to get the deal fully completed.
That has happened now, though, and he is a Hull City player, with the club confirming as much on their website.
The club statement read:
“Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Thimothée Lo-Tutala after agreeing compensation with Tottenham Hotspur.
“The 19-year-old shot stopper has penned a three-year deal with the Tigers, with the club holding the option of an extra year.”
The Verdict
Hull will be pleased to have gotten this one over the line with as little fuss as possible.
The compensation scheme is in place when it comes to young players and it sometimes causes a problem when one of the Premier League big boys is trying to poach a youngster from a club.
Hull, though, haven’t had to deal with such issues and can now look forward to seeing the stopper develop.
He’s a young player, especially for a goalkeeper, but Hull will be excited about his potential.
