Conference League draw LIVE as Aberdeen eye glamour and Barry Robson targets famous Euro nights at Pittodrie

It might seem like a downer after coming so close to the Europa League but its no scant consolation prize.

Aberdeen will find out this afternoon who they will face in the Conference League this season as Barry Robson and his team look to shake off the Euro blues.

A first leg fightback in Sweden wasn't enough to tee them up for the riches and prestige that come with UEFA's second tier as Hacken roared back with a Pittodrie response. But our country coefficient stands in good stead these days and that means the Dons have the fallback of the Conference - where they hope to land a reasonable draw.

They sadly won't be joined by Hearts or Hibs after both Edinburgh sides crashed out and it means there will be one Scottish team in each UEFA competition this season.

The Dons go into Pot 4 and while that means big names like Eintracht Frankfurt, Aston Villa and Lille lie among the potential opponents, there are more than a few winnable ones too.

If the luck of the draw is on their side then qualification for the knockouts after Christmas isn't out of the equation.

Aberdeen will find out this afternoon who they face and you can follow the group stage draw with us LIVE right here.

Here's how the pots look ahead of the big draw in Monaco. The Dons are in Pot 4.

Pot 1: Eintracht Frankfurt (GER), GNK Dinamo (CRO), Club Brugge (BEL), AZ Alkmaar (NED), KAA Gent (BEL), Fenerbahçe SK (TUR), LOSC Lille (FRA), Ferencvárosi TC (HUN)

Pot 2: PAOK FC (GRE), ŠK Slovan Bratislava (SVK), Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC (ISR), FC Viktoria Plzeň (CZE), Aston Villa FC (ENG), PFC Ludogorets 1945 (BUL), ACF Fiorentina (ITA), FK Bodø/Glimt (NOR)
