"Come back to win the Champions League" - Man City fans react to Sergio Aguero retirement hint

March 29th marked the anniversary of a dark day in the history of Manchester City - the announcement that club legend Sergio Aguero would leave the club.

After 10 years of brilliant service at the Etihad Stadium City's all-time leading goalscorer departed for Barcelona, but his incredible career soon came to a tragic end. In October 2021, Aguero experienced pains in his chest during a match and was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia. A month-and-a-half later the 33-year-old announced his retirement from football on the advice of doctors.

However, speaking to TYC Sports on Wednesday, Aguero said: "Yesterday, it crossed my mind that I could play again. Inter Miami called me but I refused. In two years? Let’s see.

"The doctors told me that I have to spend five or six months without activity, but I already want to train again!" Of course, it is extremely unlikely that Aguero would return to City, if he does indeed return to playing at all. Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped some City fans from dreaming of a wholesome reunion.
