Colby Covington was successful on Saturday 5th March 2022 against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272, but who will Chaos fight next?

Covington called out a prominent name in the UFC’s Lightweight division, but there are a number of names for the controversial fighter to potentially face going forward.

Controversy always follows Covington wherever he goes, and it is likely that his next contest will be another major box office attraction.

UPDATE 2nd June 2022: Dustin Poirier has now revealed that he is willing to face Covington. Speaking to MMAFighting, he said: “I don’t hate anyone, but if there was a line right before hate, Colby’s standing right there. I really dislike the guy, and I’ve been saying I don’t want him to make a dollar off of fighting me, but they offered me him last week… It was either wait to the end of the year and fight for a No. 1 contender at lightweight, or fight in July, and that was the name that they gave me. So I was like, ‘F*** it.’”

Original: As noted, it is not confirmed who Covington will be fighting next, but he did call out 155-pound fighter Dustin Poirier after defeating Masvidal at UFC 272.

Poirier responded to Covington’s challenge following his main event fight against Masvidal, and Covington would address the tweet at the UFC 272 post-fight press conference.

Covington said: “Let’s do it, bro. He said it’s on sight. Let’s do it. Stop talking reckless in the media. If I talk to the media and say things, I come out here and back it up. I’m a man of my word.
