Cody Rhodes potential WWE start date revealed

The wrestling world was turned on its head this week with the news that Cody Rhodes is expected to be the first huge name to defect from AEW and join WWE.

Cody’s WWE return has sent shockwaves through the industry, with fans speculating where The American Nightmare fits in the current WWE landscape.

Though nothing has been confirmed from either Cody or WWE, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated has reported that Rhodes could be filming segments at the WWE Performance centre as soon as this weekend.

“As for what happens next with Cody, it’s important to remember that this is the pro wrestling business. Were this part of a major swerve—a modern-day Brian Pillman duping WCW to sign with WWE—and Rhodes remains with AEW, it would be a massive story. But that is extremely unlikely.

Every indication is that his next destination is WWE, potentially even as soon as filming segments at the Performance Center this weekend. And while Rhodes would add value to this year’s WrestleMania, he would also be a major reveal on the Raw immediately following ’Mania.”

As previously reported, Cody’s wife Brandi isn’t expected to be joining him in WWE, but various indications believe that Vince McMahon has a huge WrestleMania plan and push for the 36-year-old.

Rhodes is a former two-time Intercontinental Champion and three-time tag team champion, but it is thought any new run would be a main event programme at the top of the card.
