Coach Rulani praises Sundowns as they extend winning run to 11 matches: 'Very proud'

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena praised his side as they overcame a stern test to beat SuperSport United 1-0 courtesy of a late first half goal from Neo Maema.

The victory was their 11th DStv Premiership win in a row, and extended their lead at the top of the standings to 14 points.

With the Brazilians' substantial lead over second-placed Richard's Bay, Mokwena was full of praise for his side as they remain on track for a sixth league title in a row.

"As always, I will congratulate the team, the players, very proud of their gallant effort," Mokwena told reporters.

"Typical match against a team that has...Gavin (Hunt), I said he can say he's got no ambition to win the league title but for sure they had... and they knew that they had to push us and push us so they didn't come here to sit back."

Mokwena reserved plenty of praise for his counterpart Hunt, as he acknowledged the test that SuperSport posed throughout the night as the game was on edge in the closing stages.
