CM Punk names Forbidden Door dream opponents

After Double Or Nothing, new AEW World Champion CM Punk sat down at the post-media scrum to discuss his victory as well as NJPW X AEW’s Forbidden Door event next month.

During the post-media scrum straight after Punk picked up the title, the newly crowned AEW Champion was asked a plethora of questions, from how does it to feel or what’s next, but what really got the attention was when asked who he’s looking forward to facing next, Punk focused his attention right away to the Forbidden Door event taking place at the end of next month.

Punk would go on to list three of New Japan’s best who he would like to step inside the squared circle with at Forbidden Door. These names were all former IWGP Heavyweight Champions Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Will Ospreay.

Here’s a breakdown of these potential opponents:

Kazuchika Okada:

This could be a perfect time for Okada to step through the Forbidden Door and lead NJPW by having the IWGP Heavyweight Champion go one-on-one with the AEW World Champion.

Okada is the only man to put on a 7-star match and has become very familiar with putting on 5-star matches. This once in a lifetime dream match can break down barriers in the wrestling world and could be another 5-star candidate or higher.

The Best In The World vs The Rainmaker could headline this event we will just have to wait and find out in the coming weeks.

Hiroshi Tanahashi:

A legend in New Japan, the most IWGP Heavyweight Championship reigns with 8 reigns in total. He has also
