Clyde change-up at half-time was the difference, says boss as SPFL survival bid boosted by win over Elgin

Ian McCall admits his half-time change-up worked a treat as Clyde came from behind to record back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.

The Bully Wee gave their SPFL survival bid a huge shot in the arm with a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Elgin, which moved them to within three points of Stranraer at the foot of League Two.

The hosts trailed to a Jake Dolzanski header in the first half, but boss McCall threw on Robbie Leitch and Jaze Kabia at the break and they provided the assists for Jordan Allan to strike twice in the space of three minutes early in the second half.

They have now won three of their last four games.

McCall, whose side had been 10 points from safety in mid-February, said: "We changed the shape as well as bringing on the subs and I think it worked, not just because we scored goals.

"Leitchy is a terrific footballer and I hope we get to keep him for a wee while because he has got ability.

"Jaze is a real threat and offers something different with his final ball.

"Both subs worked but with the situation we are in, it is just about winning and we've got to back that up at Forfar next week.

"We need to get used to winning because we looked a bit nervy in those last 10 minutes."

Elgin took the lead in 34 minutes when Dolzanski powered in a header from Russell Dingwall's corner.

Clyde equalised in 53 minutes when Leitch poked the ball into the path of Allan to curl a stunning strike into the top corner from 15 yards.

And three minutes later Kabia's cross was knocked home by Allan from close range on the volley.

The Bully Wee survived some late scares with two efforts cleared off the line and a Robert Jones effort ruled out for offside.
