Club figure makes Coventry City transfer admission

The likes of Callum O’Hare, Gustavo Hamer and Viktor Gyokeres have all been linked with moves away from the Coventry Building Society Arena in the past and two of the three are said to have been the subject of bids last month.

However the Sky Blues stood firm and in the end none of the key trio were anywhere near close to leaving for a club elsewhere as they all stayed put with Mark Robins.

Indeed the manager even insisted at the weekend that the club had not received any renewed bids for those players, whilst he also emphasised that he was unconcerned by the interest from outside parties.

The Sky Blues have certainly done well to tie their best assets to new contracts over the course of 2021 and will no doubt be keen to continue that trend into 2022 as they seek to push on to greater heights as a football club.

The Verdict 

It appears that none of the aforemtioned Coventry players were anywhere near close to leaving the club last month and as a result they can now press on safe in the knowledge that they have their squad firmly in place.

It was imperative that they kept hold of these individuals as they still have a chance of pressing for a top half finish and maybe even a play-off place if they showcase the type of form that they did earlier in the campaign.

Robins has done a superb job and certainly appears to be the man that can take them to a higher level in the years to come.

There is certainly a feel-good atmosphere around the club at present, so many will be hoping that it continues further into the season.
