City centre coffee shop forced to close due to ‘major flood’

A city centre coffee shop has been forced to close due to a ‘major flood’. Pot Kettle Black, Angel Gardens in NOMA first closed its doors yesterday morning (Friday) and remained shut today.

A member of staff at the coffee shop confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that the cafe shut on Friday and remained closed today.

According to the Met Office the wet weather is expected to clear in the region this evening with clearer spells overnight and Sunday expected to be drier.

The independent coffee shop opened in 2021 on the ground floor of Moda and is the second Pot Kettle Black location to open in the city centre. The other site is located in Barton Arcade, Deangate which was launched in 2014 by rugby league stars Jon Wilkin and Mark Flanagan. Mark and Jon were inspired to open Pot Kettle Black by the cafe culture of cities like Sydney while playing in
