Christy Ring wrap: Wins for Tyrone, London & Kildare

Tyrone dug out a 2-17 to 2-14 win over Sligo after a ding-dong Christy Ring Cup contest at Markievicz Park on Saturday.

Two Sean Óg Grogan goals had Tyrone 2-08 to 0-05 at the break and seemingly in control. However Sligo kept plugging away, with Conor Griffin finding the net after a long puck caught out the Red hand defence.

With seven minutes to go, Tyrone goalkeeper Conor McElhatton was black-carded for pulling down Gerard O'Kelly Lynch. Rory McHugh pointed the penalty to get it back to 2-17 to 1-14, and after Ruairi Devlin conceded another penalty (for which he received a second yellow card) McHugh rattled the net.

Ultimately Sligo left themselevs with too much to do though as Tyrone saw it out.

London maintained their 100% record with a third win on the bounce as they saw off Wicklow in Ruislip.

Ronan Crowley and Kevin Reid both goaled, with Jack Goulding (0-07) and Owen Shiel (0-06) chipping in with good contributions in a 2-20 to 0-14 victory.

Kildare had too much for Derry at Hawkfield, where they prevailed by 2-18 to 0-18.

Two goals from Jack Sheridan - one in each half - ultimately proved the difference as the Lilywhites took the spoils.

In round three of the Nickey Rackard Cup Donegal hammered Monaghan 4-27 to 0-15 in Letterkenny, while Louth are still winless after they fell to a 3-22 to 0-17 loss against Mayo in Dowdallshill.

In the Lory Meagher Cup Cavan enjoyed a ten-point victory over Lancashire at Glenavy, prevailing 2-25 to 0-12. Cavan will next face Longford who beat Leitrim by 2-22 to 3-09 as Glennon Bros Pearse Park.
