Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has admitted that his current role at the club has been tough - but he is determined to see the positives in the situation.
The 23-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular spot since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, struggling to fit into the German's preferred 3-4-2-1 formation.
Pulisic enjoyed a successful first campaign in west London under Frank Lampard, scoring 11 goals and providing a further 10 assists in 2019-20.
But this season he has appeared just 12 times in the Premier League, scoring three goals. And in a new interview, he has admitted that playing at times as a wing-back has been a struggle but a learning curve.
"It is tough. I haven’t always been playing in the positions I want to play in," Pulisic told NBC Sports ahead of USA’s World Cup qualifying clash with Honduras.
"But I think it is a good quality to be versatile and able to play in all kinds of positions and have different strengths on the pitch.
"I’ve learned a lot and I’m ready to hopefully be in a spot over the next few games that I’m more comfortable in."
But Pulisic was keen to add that his club status will not impact on his USMNT displays, adding: "It doesn’t affect me too much coming in to US camps.
