Christian Eriksen subtly criticises Manchester United performance in draw with Burnley

Christian Eriksen said Manchester United should have kept a clean sheet and claimed a win after taking a late lead against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

United made a bright start against Burnley and created a handful of decent opportunities, but the finishing was poor and the visitors began to wrestle control back.

Burnley enjoyed a strong end to the first half and could have led at half-time. Erik ten Hag made no changes at the break and Antony, who he started for a successive game, eventually provided a breakthrough in the 79th minute with a smart finish into the bottom right corner.

That goal was Antony's first in the Premier League this season and he celebrated as if he'd scored the winner, but Andre Onana conceded a penalty just eight minutes later.

Burnley midfielder Zeki Amdouni converted from the spot and the points were shared, which led to boos around each corner of Old Trafford at the full-time whistle.

After the game, Eriksen spoke to MUTV and said: "We had the three points in our hands going into the last minutes of ordinary time. We should be able to keep a clean sheet and get the win.

"I still think there could be some bits that could be better [in my own performance]. I made a few decisions that could be better, putting my teammate or myself in a better area around the pitch.

"But I'm trying to do my best and like you said, I haven't had as much game time. When you're playing, you have to do your best and that's what I'm trying to do."

United have played three games in six days and will now have a nine-day break until facing Crystal Palace. "It's going to be full focus
