Christian Eriksen stars in Rangers friendly but Amad Diallo double secures Brentford draw

Christian Eriksen showed Rangers he's still got it as he picked up a pair of set-piece assists in an Auchenhowie bounce game.

But Amad Diallo was the star of the show for Gers as the Manchester United loanee netted a double that held Brentford to a 2-2 draw.

The Premier League side travelled to Glasgow for a friendly as both sides looked to get minutes in the legs of some of their fringe stars.

Brentford gave a start to former Tottenham and Inter star Eriksen as he gears up for a competitive return.

And he managed 80 minutes in which he swung in two corners that got the better of a heavily rotated Rangers side.

Gio van Bronckhorst went with an XI of players who didn't start the draw with Dundee United - including Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Diallo.

Zanka headed in the opener for Brentford from an Eriksen cross in the first half but Diallo equalised as he converted a Mateusz Zukowski cross.

And he was quickest to react when Kemar Roofe saw his penalty saved as the Ivorian arrived in the area to slam in the rebound.

Diallo was replaced at half-time for Alex Lowry while B-team stars Johnly Yfeko, Charlie McCann, Kane Ritchie-Hosler and Juan Alegria all got a taste of first-team action off the bench.

But another Eriksen set-piece tied it up as Tristan Crama equalised with a header early in the second half.

Rangers were also boosted by the presence of Leon Balogun, with the centre-back playing 45 minutes having been out since picking up an injury against Hibs earlier this month.

Rangers team: McCrorie, Zukowski, King, Simpson, Balogun (Yfeko, 46), Sands, Davis (Ritchie-Hosler, 61), Kamara (McCann, 61), Diallo (Lowry, 46), Wright, Roofe (Alegria, 61)

Brentford team: Fernandez, Stevens, Sorenson, Crama, Ghoddos
