Christian Eriksen involved in wholesome moment with Brandon Williams

Brandon Williams and Christian Eriksen were involved in a heartwarming tussle during the first half of Saturday’s Premier League clash between Norwich City and Brentford.

Eriksen joined Brentford on a six-month deal in January, one month after leaving Inter Milan by mutual consent after being suspended from playing in Serie A by the Italian medical authority.

The Denmark international suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for his national team at Euro 2020 last summer and was lucky to make a full recovery.

Many people assumed he would never play football again and certainly not at the highest level.

But just seven months after nearly losing his life, Eriksen penned a short-term deal with Brentford after having an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device fitted.

Eriksen made his first start for the Bees against Brentford and took the corner that led to Ivan Toney giving the visitors the lead at Carrow Road.

Minutes later, the Danish midfielder was involved in a tussle for possession with Williams, the 21-year-old left-back who is currently on loan at Norwich from Manchester United.

Fired up, Williams was ready for a bit of afters with the Brentford player – before quickly realising who he’d just been battling with.

On spotting that it was Eriksen, Williams whole demeanour immediately changed.

He gave his opponent a big hug and helped him back to his feet while smiling.

The footage soon went viral and you can watch it here:
