Christian Eriksen marks Denmark return with fairytale goal

Christian Eriksen has just proved that fairy tales really can come true.

Almost 300 days since that traumatic afternoon in Copenhagen, Eriksen has continued his inspiring comeback in the beautiful game by scoring two minutes into his Denmark return.

It’s been a long and difficult journey for Eriksen to return to the sport that he loves on the back of collapsing with a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s 1-0 defeat to Finland.

However, now that Eriksen has returned to club football with Denmark having been forced to leave Inter Milan due to Italian football rules, his dream return has now reached new heights.

That’s because the former Tottenham Hotspur star was called up to the Danish senior team for the current international break to pull on the jersey of his nation for the first time since that harrowing day in 2021.

As such, the moment that Eriksen stepped onto the pitch in a Denmark shirt during the clash with the Netherlands on Saturday night was an emotional one no matter what happened in the game.

But what if we were to tell you that Eriksen took less than two minutes to mark the occasion by scoring a goal? You probably wouldn’t believe us, but you’d certainly want t be true.

Well, fear not, ladies and gentlemen, because sometimes life isn’t all bad and sometimes real life can rhyme just like a great poem or movie, so be sure to check out Eriksen’s emotional goal down below:
