Christian Eriksen enjoys fairytale week as Brentford stun Chelsea

Christian Eriksen’s fairytale week continued as he scored in Brentford’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

On March 26, Eriksen made his first appearance for Denmark since he suffered a cardiac arrest last summer at Euro 2020.

The 30-year-old was named on the bench for his side’s friendly against The Netherlands.

He came on at half-time and, incredibly, he managed to score two minutes after coming on.

A few days later, on March 29, he started and was named captain for Denmark’s friendly against Serbia in Copenhagen.

He scored his side’s third goal as Denmark won 3-0.

And he scored his third goal in a week as Brentford shocked Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues took the lead in the 47th minute courtesy of Antonio Rudiger’s 35-yard screamer.

Brentford drew level two minutes later through Vitaly Janelt.

In the 54th minute, Eriksen scored his first goal for Brentford to give his side the lead.

Brentford broke with Bryan Mbeumo and the winger found Eriksen in the box. The Dane then made no mistake from close-range to five his side the lead.

After a tough year, Eriksen scores a goal once again
