Christian Eriksen hits back at FC Copenhagen boss after Manchester United dig

Christian Eriksen has responded to FC Copenhagen manager Jacbob Neestrup's sly dig over the atmosphere at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have travelled to Denmark to face off against the capital side in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Erik ten Hag's side remains third in their group and needs a victory to keep their chances of qualification to the knock-outs strong.

A victory would put them on six points and potentially up to second place if Galatasaray fail to win at Bayern Munich, who are in immense form and have won all three matches so far. If United lose, though, they would be leapfrogged by their opponents and slide to bottom place.

United were able to scrape a 1-0 victory against Copenhagen at home two weeks ago. Harry Maguire's late header was the difference but they needed a dramatic, last-gasp penalty save from Andre Onana to keep hold of the three points.

Copenhagen's confidence wasn't dented by the defeat, though, and they feel good about their chances at their home the Parken Stadium. In fact, Neestrup believes the atmosphere will be much better than Old Trafford.

"What can they expect? I can say with all the respect, I felt when I stepped into Old Trafford, I felt the historical atmosphere,’ Neestrup said on Tuesday.

"But you can’t compare Old Trafford with Parken, because the intensity is times 100 in terms of what we played in two weeks ago. This is a standard, for me, way above Premier League, to be honest."

Eriksen has played at Parken for the Danish national team and though he admits he expects a 'special' atmosphere, he laughed off the suggestion it was so much better than
