Manchester United give injury update on Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that striker Rasmus Hojlund is touch-and-go to be available for Sunday's trip to Goodison Park to face Everton.

The striker was forced off in the second half of United's 1-0 win over Luton Town prior to the international break with a muscle strain. He was withdrawn with just over 10 minutes of regulation time left and went straight down the tunnel after consultation with the club's medical team.

As a result, the 20-year-old, who has scored five goals since joining United from Atalanta in August, was forced to pull out of the Denmark squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Slovenia and Northern Ireland. United, at the time, said it was hoped he would be able to return before the end of this month.

United play twice before the end of November, travelling to Turkey to face Galatasaray three days after the upcoming clash with Everton. If Hojlund does not make the cut on Sunday, Ten Hag is seemingly hopeful that he will be strong enough for his side's penultimate Champions League group stage fixture in Istanbul.

Ten Hag, as quoted by United's club website, said: "Rasmus Hojlund, not too bad. Everton will be a close finish but we're working on that.

"We're not sure if he can make that but, hopefully, in the next week, he will return to the squad."
