Burnley vs Man City highlights and reaction as De Bruyne and Gundogan send champions back to top

Manchester City picked up an important three points against relegation-battlers Burnley at Turf Moor after Liverpool temporarily leapfrogged them in the Premier League.

Going into the weekend just a point ahead of Liverpool, City kicked-off at Burnley in second place after Jurgen Klopp's side beat Watford in the lunchtime game. With Liverpool visiting the Etihad next week, City knew the importance of a win to ensure they go into that clash top of the Premier League table.

Pep Guardiola welcomed back John Stones, but only to the bench, while Raheem Sterling recovered from a minor knock picked up on international duty to start.

Sterling was involved from the start, setting up Kevin De Bruyne for a lovely opener just six minutes in, before he got a second assist after 25 minutes for Ilkay Gundogan. The two goals proved enough to send City back top of the table and with the momentum ahead of next week's big Liverpool showdown.
