Chris Sutton insists Rodgers has 'got under Clement's skin' as Celtic hero examines Rangers boss’ psychology

Chris Sutton reckons Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is getting under Philippe Clement's skin as the derby mind games begin.

The Celtic gaffer claimed post-match against Hearts that his troops would have "a bit of fun" against Rangers at Parkhead as the Scottish Premiership top two get ready for a blockbuster showdown that will have a major say in the title race. The Hoops ran out 3-0 winners on Saturday in Glasgow's east end to ramp up the pressure but the Belgian watched on as his side responded with a 4-1 triumph after coming from behind to dump Kilmarnock with Fabio Silva, Ben Davies, Tom Lawrence and John Souttar all on target.

Post-match the Rangers boss aimed a direct response at Rodgers' comments by saying: "I heard yesterday they are going to have fun. So we are going to have fun also," adding that it was disrespectful.

That reaction prompted Celtic hero and Record Sport columnist Sutton to claim that the Rangers boss is feeling the pressure after coming across as a calm and composed figure after he first arrived in Glasgow. He also reckons those comments from his rival boss across the city have got under his skin. He told Sky Sports: "Brendan has got under his skin. When he first came in he was always calm and composed but he is feeling the pressure. I don't know why Brendan has said it. It would have been tongue in cheek, but it is better to do your talking at the end of the season."

Kris Boyd replied: "When Brendan Rodgers came up at first it would never have came out of his mouth either but you just kind of get the feeling he has tried to win over the Celtic fans and appease them.
