Chris Sutton in cheeky Rangers one-two punch as Celtic hero gives Clement '45 minutes' and fires another Beale potshot

Chris Sutton couldn't resist another parting shot at Michael Beale - and joked he's only giving Philippe Clement '45 minutes' before getting on his back.

Sutton and Beale were the best of enemies while he was in post at Rangers as the Celtic hero took aim at him for his comments branding Ange Postecoglou 'lucky.' Beale branded Sutton 'a comedy act' in response, something the pundit remembered as he tweeted out a reference to shortly after he was sacked earlier this month.

And now the Record Sport columnist couldn't help but dig him out again when speaking about new boss Philippe Clement on BBC Radio 5 Live. And he also joked it might not be long before the new boss is in his cross hairs just as Beale was. He said: "Clement has won things in Belgium, unlike the 'great Messiah' Michael Beale. We'll be fair to the new boss and give him 45 minutes....

"His track record is a big thing, he's won 3 titles in Belgium then did OK at Monaco. Now if he comes in, talks basic football sense, then it's about the way he coaches. He's got to hit the ground running, Celtic haven't been at their best and will get there but there's 30 games left and they play Celtic three times. The biggest issue he has is the players Rangers recruited haven't shown up. He's got to get the most out of them."

Sutton then said it's important for Clement to block out the noise and focus on his job - prompting host Mark Chapman to ask if he should avoid listening to 'people like you.' But Sutton coolly replied with another veiled barb at Beale, quipping: "Not necessarily, I just wouldn't be calling the Celtic manager lucky, for example."
