Chris Sutton buzzing on Twitter over Celtic development

Celtic legend Chris Sutton has given his verdict on Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has made is loan move to the Scottish champions permanent.

Finally, the Bhoys have been able to make the season-long deal a permanent one after Carter-Vickers played his part in a successful campaign under Ange Postecoglou.

Carter-Vickers will hope to finally settle in a first-team after countless loan moves away from Tottenham Hotspur throughout his career. The defender has played for the likes of Bournemouth, Swansea City, and Sheffield United, before having arguably his best season to date when at Celtic on loan last season.

Sutton was certainly impressed by the former Spurs man, taking to Twitter to say: “Nice work… best player in the league last season.”

Carter-Vickers made a total of 46 appearances as a mainstay in Ange Postecoglou‘s side – eventually doing enough to earn a £6million move.

Now, the American will be looking ahead to next season, where Celtic will look to make it back-to-back Scottish Premierships to cement their place back at the top of Scottish football.

We think Carter-Vickers was one of the most underrated defenders about last season. He quietly had an incredibly impressive campaign, and should turn out to be one of the smartest acquisitions in Scotland this summer.

With the World Cup approaching this winter, too, the new Celtic signing will be hoping to secure his place on the plane to Qatar in the USA squad. The 2022 tournament will be America’s first World Cup since 2014, after they missed out in 2018.
