Child rushed to hospital after crash between car and bike

A child has been taken to hospital after a crash in Porthcawl. The incident happened just before 12.30pm on Wednesday, August 21, at or near Heol-Y-Goedwig.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said the incident reportedly involved a driver and a child riding a bike. The child has been taken to hospital. The spokeswoman said she was currently unable to release further details.

She said: "South Wales Police was called just before 12.30pm on Wednesday, August 21, with a report that there had been a collision between a driver and a child on a bike. The child has been taken to hospital for treatment. No further detail is available at this time."

Reports from locals suggest that Heol-Y-Goedwig was closed around halfway down the road. They described a heavy emergency service presence in the area including police and paramedics.
