Chiefs coach praises in-form Bimenyimana but voices concern over team errors
Kaizer Chiefs beat Stellenbosch FC 3-1 in front of a noisy Cape Town Stadium crowd on Sunday. The result moved Amakhosi up to fourth in the DStv Premiership while hosts Stellies remain sixth.
Despite going behind, Chiefs produced a fighting response as they replied with three goals of their own, all through Caleb Bimenyimana. The 24-year-old striker became the hero of the afternoon as he scored a hat-trick of penalties to give his side the victory.
The three goals took Bimenyimana's league tally up to six goals, making him Chiefs' outright top scorer so far this term. Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane praised his striker for the goals and his teamwork.
"With Caleb, he simplifies things, he keeps it simple as a striker. He wants to play the ball out wide, he wants to protect the ball, wants to play that one-two.
"He is also skilful, he's not just a tall boy. He is quick for his structure and his got that balance as well."
Zwane praised the partnership between Bimenyimana and his strike partner Ashley Du Preez, highlighting the chemistry between the two.
"We've always wanted players who can release players like Ash (Du Preez) and he freed Ash.
"The ball carrier must be able to pick one between the two of them and Ash was free twice because Caleb attracts. That's the strengths that he has as a player and he's also clever on the ball and not just a striker waiting for crosses."
Despite the victory being Chiefs' third in a row, it was yet another error leading to them conceding a goal. It came after midfielder Njabulo Blom took too much time on the ball and lost it to Nhlanhla Mgaga, who then smashed it through a helpless and frustrated Itumeleng Khune.
Zwane voiced his concern about the errors but praised the team's
