Chelsea: 'World-class' £60m star 'could land' at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are one of few clubs Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling could actually join this summer, says transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Blues are said to be confident about their chances of signing the 27-year-old, and Jones sees them as the only viable destination in England.

According to the Manchester Evening News, a decision on Sterling’s future could be made before the start of City’s pre-season tour.

The England international has just one year to run on his contract and has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.

In fact, multiple outlets, including Sky Sports, have claimed that Chelsea are confident that they can get a deal done this summer.

If Sterling does decide he wants to move to Stamford Bridge, City are expected to demand a fee of around £60m from their Premier League rivals.

Jones thinks Chelsea have a good chance of signing Sterling since a move there would give him the opportunity to return to London.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “He’s from London, so straight away you start to look at the London clubs. He’s not going to go to Man United and Liverpool is a door that’s also closed, so Tottenham and Chelsea seem two places.

“Tottenham, I can’t see at all if I’m totally honest, so Chelsea are one of the few clubs that Raheem Sterling could actually land at.”

As Jones mentioned, with United and Liverpool off the table for various reasons, Tottenham are the only other name you can really throw up.

There is obviously Arsenal, but with The Times claiming that Sterling wants Champions League football, that looks like a non-starter.
