Chelsea show English football dominance by reaching four Cup Finals

Chelsea demonstrated their dominance in English football by reaching the Final of both the men and women’s FA Cup this weekend.

The women’s team secured a 2-0 victory over Arsenal to set up a clash against Manchester City, with Guro Reiten and Ji So-yun on the scoresheet.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount then scored as the men’s team took on Crystal Palace at Wembley. Following their 2-0 win, they will face Liverpool in the Final.

The victories meant this year’s men and women’s FA Cup Finals will be a repeat of this season’s respective League Cup Finals.

As a result, Chelsea will have played in every domestic Cup Final this season across both men and women’s football.

This year’s FA Cup Finals are scheduled for May 14th and 15th, with fans of The Blues set to enjoy a brilliant weekend of football. They will be hoping for a better outcome than in the League Cup, however.

The women’s side were stunned 3-1 by Manchester City in the Continental Cup Final last month, while just a week earlier, the Chelsea men’s team were defeated by Liverpool on penalties in the Carabao Cup Final.

Chelsea Women will go into the FA Cup Final as defending champions, having triumphed 3-0 against Arsenal last year.

Indeed, it is not the first season of Chelsea dominance in English football. The London outfit were awarded club of the year at the 2021 Ballon d’Or after a highly successful 12 months for both the men and women’s teams.

Hayes’s side won the Women’s Super League for the second year running last season, and played in the Champions League Final for the first time in the team’s history, albeit losing 4-0 to Barcelona.

The men’s team won the Champions League for the second time, and reached the Final of the FA Cup.
