Iga Świątek reaches fourth consecutive final after thrilling Stuttgart Open display

World number one Iga Świątek has reached the final of the Stuttgart Open after winning a thrilling battle against Ludmilla Samsonova.

She will feature in her fourth consecutive tournament final tomorrow and will be looking to add to her impressive trophy count this year.

The Polish star came from behind against Samsonova to win 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 after more than three hours on the court.

It was an incredible display from the two women — both completely emptied the tank and put in a spectacular performance throughout the entirety of their meeting.

The match was almost impossible to predict right from the start, but it was the new world number one who emerged victorious after an inspired comeback.

Świątek will face Aryna Sabalenka in the last round of the tournament tomorrow afternoon.

Świątek is currently in the form of her life and has extended her winning streak to 22 matches. She will be vying for another trophy after already scooping the Qatar Open, Indian Wells and Miami Open titles this year.

Carrying the momentum of her three title wins, the Pole breezed past her first opponent in the Stuttgart Open.
