Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill's expletive-ridden blast after Huddersfield Town's play-off defeat

An emotional Levi Colwill could not hide his anger after Nottingham Forest ended Huddersfield Town's promotion dream. Carlos Corberan's side missed out on a Premier League return, losing 1-0 to Forest in the Championship play-off final at Wembley yesterday.

Colwill's 43rd minute own goal from James Garner's cross was the decisive moment. Town shaded the second half and had two big penalty appeals waved away as they fell agonisingly short at the final hurdle.

"We did everything correctly and defended well and gave them no chances and they were shouting at each other and didn't know what to do," said Colwill. "Then there was that one chance that went in and it was so unfortunate.

"There was not much I could do (about the own goal) or much that anyone could do. Apart from that, I thought we were the better team and with the two penalties.

"I can't lie, you look back at them and they were very, very weird how neither one of them wasn't given. It is what it is. It is one of them things that is a bit s***.

"I don't know why the referee didn't give it. It's terrible, it was his (the referee's) last game.

"It's one of those things and we have got to keep our heads up as we have done well. We did very well this year and everyone was predicting up to get relegated. So they know nothing. This year, we have done brilliant and got to the final and were the better team."

Reflecting on the own goal, Colwill said: "There wasn’t much I could do about the goal. I just wanted to block it but he kicked my knee up and it hit it.
