Chelsea have updated the front of Stamford Bridge to include their Club World Cup title after winning the competition last Saturday.

The Blues qualified for the tournament when they were crowned European champions last summer, where Kai Havertz's chip past Ederson was enough to secure the Champions League for a second time in the club’s history.

It was far from plain sailing to become the Champions of the World though, having lost in the final in their one other appearance in the competition against Corinthians in 2012.

Thomas Tuchel had to navigate a semi-final against Al-Hilal from home, where he was self-isolating, before joining up with the squad for the final against Palmeiras.

The Brazilian side stifled and frustrated the Blues, who were trying their best to break down their stubborn defence.

It took until the second half for Tuchel ’s men to open the scoring, Romelu Lukaku managed to poke home to give his side the lead.

However, that didn’t last for long as Palmeiras were soon back into it, scoring a penalty courtesy of Raphael Veiga just 10 minutes later.

The game played out until extra-time was needed to separate the two sides, where a penalty would change the tie again. Havertz stepped up and calmly scored from the spot in the 117th minute, scoring yet another decisive goal in a final for Chelsea.
