Chelsea: £150k-a-week star could make 'surprise' Stamford Bridge exit

Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic could make a “surprise” Stamford Bridge exit, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

The £150,000 per-week ace has played less than 60 minutes in the Blues’ first three Premier League games and Jacobs reckons he could make a late move away from west London.

Pulisic made the £58m move from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019 and while he’s turned out more than 100 times in his three years in English football, he’s struggled to nail down a starting place.

That comes despite more than half of his time at Chelsea coming under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, who was his manager at Dortmund.

This term, Pulisic has had to settle for three substitute appearances, with Tuchel sending the winger on when the Blues were 3-0 down at Leeds on Sunday.

As a result, Jacobs believes that Pulisic could make a Chelsea exit late on in the transfer window but thinks it would come as a surprise.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Pulisic is lacking game-time and a little bit of confidence and needs to play regularly in a World Cup year, so that could be a late move, but that would come as a little bit of a surprise.”

Despite producing little of note in recent years at Chelsea, Pulisic still possesses an impressive record during his time in top-flight football.

Since breaking into the team at Dortmund, the American has registered more than 50 goal contributions in the Bundesliga and Premier League combined, while he also boasts a record of 21 goals in 50 international caps for the US.

That might explain why he’s still sought after this summer. According to The Athletic, Manchester United are ‘considering’ a loan move for Pulisic, with the wide man desperate to play regular football ahead of the winter World Cup.
