Cheetahs, Lions teams named for Currie Cup tussle

The Cheetahs and Lions have named their respective team line-ups for Saturday's Currie Cup encounter in Bloemfontein.

Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie made several changes to his team, with only one injury-enforced change and the others "rotational".

At left wing, Malcolm Jaer replaces the injured Rosko Specman after the Blitzboks star twisted his ankle in training.

Robert Ebersohn starts at outside centre, with David Brits on the bench and Cohen Jasper at fullback.

In the front row, Cameron Dawson returns from injury and will be wearing the No 1 jersey, with Wilmar Arnold next to him at hooker. Louis van der Westhuizen will provide cover on the bench.

Flankers Jeandre Rudolph and Andisa Ntsila swap places, with Rudolph in the starting line-up this week.

"Most of the changes are rotational. There [are] a lot of guys who train well and we want to keep the bigger group interested and give some guys game time. I want the guys to be sharp if we get injuries later on in the competition. Only Rosko is out due to injury," Fourie said.

Meanwhile, Lions coach Mziwakhe Nkosi named a match-day 23 which features the explosive centre combination of Tyler Bocks and James Mollentze. Experienced flyhalf Fred Zelinga has been tasked with spearheading the attack, while flyer Rabz Maxwane starts on the right wing against his former team.

"We spoke extensively about implementing our plans and more importantly retaining our focus for longer periods of the game," Nkosi said.

"Looking back at our last outing against the Sharks, we felt costly errors let us down and we know a team like the Toyota Cheetahs will pounce if given the opportunity. If we can limit those little mistakes, we believe we'll be in with a real chance of achieving a positive result."
