Cheapest areas to live in Greater Manchester where house prices fall below £150,000

House prices in the UK are continuing to soar, which means that finding a home at a reasonable price can prove quite difficult in today's climate. The average house price in the UK is now at an all-time high of £360,000 after prices climbed for the third consecutive month with an increase of more than £19,000.

Despite property prices rising, fortunately there are some parts of Greater Manchester where houses are much more affordable. On the lower end of the region's property market, you can often find bargain homes for much less than the UK's average house price.

Across five out of the region's 10 boroughs, there are some areas where the standard price of property is below £150,000, according to the latest data from the HM Land Registry. These parts of the region could be considered ideal locations for first-time buyers or someone looking to buy a cheap doer-upper home and increase its value.

Bolton

In the borough of Bolton, you can expect to find a cheap home in Farnworth. The average house price in the town is currently £143,857.

A quick glance on Rightmove shows that there are a few properties available for even less than the average house price, including this two-bed terraced home on the market for £120,000 and a three-bed semi-detached home listed for £140,000.

Manchester
