Chatham will aim to get on the board at the second attempt tonight - against visitors whose new season got off to a flyer.

Chats welcome Dulwich Hamlet to the Bauvill Stadium as they look to get back on track after an opening-day 3-1 Isthmian Premier defeat at St Albans.

While Chatham finished fourth last term - five places and 16 points ahead of Dulwich - Mark Dacey’s men made a dream start, thrashing Maldon & Tiptree 6-0 through two-goal Nyren Clunis, David Smith, Luke Wanadio, Gaspar Mico and substitute Sol Baugh at home.

Chatham boss and chairman Kevin Hake said: “It’s our first home league game of the season, against another big club at this level, and it should be a fantastic atmosphere.

“Our supporters were unbelievable for us last season and travelled in great numbers again on Saturday. Now, we need to create that energy at home.

“Hopefully, we can get a big crowd behind the players and make the Bauvill a difficult place for teams to come this season.”

Striker Jimmy Wild will hope to have done enough to earn a starting berth after he came off the substitutes’ bench to get Chats' goal at Clarence Park.
