Chatham Town host TNT Sports for the Women’s FA Cup second round draw at the Bauvill Stadium after Sunday’s penalty shootout win over AFC Wimbledon – Dartford await opponents too after thrashing Forest Green Rovers
Chatham Town’s Bauvill Stadium will host the draw for the Women’s FA Cup second round tonight - a day after their team’s thrilling win at AFC Wimbledon.
Both Chatham Town and Dartford have progressed to the second round proper of the competition, Chats beating Wimbledon on penalties in their game on Sunday, and the Darts thrashing Forest Green Rovers 5-1 at Princes Park.
There’s FA Cup fever at Chatham, with the men’s side gearing up for a first-round FA Cup tie against Buxton this coming weekend.
All eyes will be on the Women’s FA Cup draw tonight, however, with TNT Sports live streaming from the Bauvill Stadium from 7pm.
The draw - split north and south - will be presented by Flo Lloyd-Hughes and made by Mollie Kmita, Rosie Kmita and Gilly Flaherty.
Teams from the Women’s Championship enter at the third round, and the 12 clubs competing in the Super League enter at the fourth round.
Both Chatham and Dartford will pick up £6,000 each in prize money following their first round wins, with £8,000 on offer to those sides winning in round two.
Chatham captain Ellie Jeffkins was the star of the show during a thrilling contest at higher-league AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane ground on Sunday, scoring twice with long-range efforts, both hitting the net from over 40 yards out.
Excitement is building ahead of tonight’s @AdobeWFACup draw at the stadium — broadcasted live on @TNTSports from 7pm.
Be sure to get behind @ChathamTownWFC this evening as we find out our second-round opponents.
