Charlie Savage sends emotional Manchester United farewell message after Reading transfer

Manchester United youngster Charlie Savage has issued an emotional farewell after completing his move to Reading.

The League One side have announced that they have signed the midfielder on a permanent deal, revealing that he has signed a four-year contract. The League One club are currently in the midst of a huge summer rebuild following relegation from the Championship last season.

Savage, who made his senior debut for United back in December 2021, is understood to have been sold by the Reds for the best interests of his career. United are well-stocked in central midfield and a pathway to the first team was hard to see for the 20-year-old.

The youngster, who captained the Reds in the second half of last week's 2-0 win over Leeds United in Oslo, had also been linked with a move to the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea City and Wigan Athletic. United are understood to have inserted a significant sell-on clause in the deal that has seen him move to the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

"To make my debut for the first team at Old Trafford in the Champions League was
