Charles De Ketelaere to Leicester City transfer latest: Foxes 'ready' to beat competition for next 'De Bruyne'

Just over a week since the opening of the summer transfer window and there remains little movement in the market for Leicester City so far.

It could be a busy few months for City as Brendan Rodgers has spoken of the need for a summer refresh of his squad. The City boss has said that 'five or six' new signings could be made in the summer transfer window.

The club are specifically targeting a centre-back, attacking midfielder and right winger. But they also have eyes on other areas of the squad that they could also improve. One name who keeps being mentioned is Belgium international Charles De Ketelaere.

The Club Brugge forward has attracted interest after impressing in Belgium. Last season, his 14 goals and seven assists helped Blauw-Zwart to their third straight Jupiler Pro League title.

He's been linked with a move to the East Midlands, but Serie A champions AC Milan have been named as his 'first choice' with Champions League football on offer at the San Siro.

The player has been linked with a move to City since the January window. With that in mind, here's a round-up of the latest situation regarding De Ketelaere...

Belgian journalist Alexandre Braeckman has compared City target De Ketelaere to Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

The pair have played together whilst on international duty for Roberto Martinez's side and Braeckman has added an extra incentive for City to land the forward.

"To be honest with you, I think De Ketelaere could become the next De Bruyne," he told Pianeta Milan.

"His game vision is brilliant; he is fast, technically interesting, he can score quite easily. He can play behind a striker, but he can also be employed as a false nine or a striker.

"His vision in making assists is incredible.
