"Chance to create history" - Journalist drops big NUFC transfer claim on 238-assist global star

Journalist Dean Jones does not believe there are too many better places than Newcastle United for players who could be looking for something new like Thomas Muller.

The Bayern Munich forward, who has been at the German club his whole career, is out of contract next year and has been linked with a move to St James’ Park, where Jones thinks he could help create history.

According to German journalist Christian Falk, Newcastle, as well as Premier League rivals Everton, want to sign Muller.

There is no new contract on the table yet for Muller, but you suspect that could easily change given how important he has been to Bayern this season and down the years.

The 32-year-old has already registered more than 15 assists in the Bundesliga this term and has 238 in total for Bayern.

All in all, he is just a brilliant attacking player, making it no surprise that Newcastle want him to be part of their new project.

Given that he is performing at such a high level and is at a club like Bayern, Newcastle’s interest is something some may laugh off. However, transfer insider Jones does not think it sounds too far-fetched.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think if you’re going to try something new in your career, not many better places to try out than Newcastle. You’re going to be paid extremely well, the project they’ll be selling to you will be as ambitious as a project could be and there’s an excitement level which you might not get anywhere else.

“If you bring into it the area in terms of football lovers, the fans, the chance to create history, it’s all there. And obviously huge expectation too, but players should be pushing for things like that.”

It is hard to imagine Bayern
