Burnley's title celebrations were placed on hold after substitute Chris Martin’s late goal clinched QPR a 2-1 win at Turf Moor.

The Clarets, already assured of promotion, created a succession of chances, but fell behind to Sam Field’s second-half volley and after Manuel Benson’s superb curling equaliser, Martin headed QPR’s late winner from a corner.

Vincent Kompany’s side still need one more win from their three remaining games to guarantee they are crowned champions, while the Hoops climbed four points clear of the relegation zone with two games to play.

Matt Godden gave the Sky Blues a half-time lead and after Lucas Joao’s equaliser for the Royals, Gustavo Hamer struck the winner three minutes later, to lift his side up from eighth.

Blackburn were denied a place back in the top six after Dominic Hyam’s stoppage-time own goal handed local rivals Preston a 1-1 draw at Deepdale.

Rovers, outside the play-off places on goal difference, had taken a late lead through Sammie Szmodics.

Swansea maintained their late play-off charge after a 3-0 win at head coach Russell Martin’s former club Norwich made it 19 points from seven games.

Joel Latibeaudiere and Liam Cullen gave the Swans a 2-0 half-time lead and Olivier Ntcham added a third to seal their fourth straight win and lift them to within three points of a play-off place.

Bottom club Wigan kept their survival hopes alive thanks to Thelo Aasgaard’s late goal, which clinched a 2-1 home win against Millwall, whose top-six chances were dealt a blow.
