Celtic XI v Wiener Viktoria confirmed as Ange Postecoglou makes shock Christopher Jullien decision

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has named his first starting XI of the campaign for a friendly versus Wiener Viktoria.

The Hoops are out in Austria this week for some pre-season training, with some of the squad returning to work as early as last week ahead of Premiership term 2022/23. They won the Premiership title last term and claimed League Cup glory too, now gearing up for defending their silverware alongside tackling Champions League group stage football this autumn.

Postecoglou has named his first starting selection for the new campaign against Austrian opposition, naming Christopher Jullien in his defence amid reports his move to Schalke failed to come through due to no personal terms being agree. New left-back Alexandro Bernabei starts for Celtic, with youngster Johnny Kenny given a chance up front. Fellow promising starlet Bosun Lawal is thrown into defence alongside Osaze Urhoghide. Joe Hart starts the match as captain.

A further friendly with Rapid Wien awaits Celtic after this battle before heading to the Czech Republic to take on Banik Ostrava.
